Microsoft Partner
Microsoft restructured its channel partner program in 2010, expiring the classic “Certified” and “Gold-Certified” partner designations. The new program identifies partners’ core capabilities and expertise in specific Microsoft solution areas by awarding individual “Silver” and “Gold” competencies.
The criteria to qualify for these new competencies is much more comprehensive and difficult, requiring partners to:
- Pass technical exams and business assessments based on current Microsoft product versions
- Acquire certifications across multiple resources
- Provide three to five customer references per competency
- In the case of a gold competency, participate in an independetly administered Customer Satisfaction Index
Currently there are more than 400,000 Microsoft partners worldwide eligible to attain these new competencies. Of these, fewer than 7% have achieved one or more of the 29 available competencies – NexusTek has accomplished two gold and five silver competencies, and as such maintains an enviable position in the upper echelon of all Microsoft partners.
