Equifax has been hit by an unprecedented Cyber Security incident that has the potential to impact approximately 143 million U.S. consumers. This attack not only shows that no business in the U.S. (even businesses holding the most sensitive of data) are fully secure, but it also brings to light the fact that businesses need to be proactive in their approach to Cyber Security.
Following this attack, the Equifax CEO said, “I’ve told our entire team that our goal can’t be simply to fix the problem and move on. Confronting cybersecurity risks is a daily fight. While we’ve made significant investments in data security, we recognize we must do more. And we will.”
