Summary

As a Support Technician II with NexusTek, with minimal supervision, you will perform a variety of computer systems administration and support tasks, including analyzing, constructing, documenting, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting of PC hardware, operating systems, software applications, peripherals, and communications devices including hand-held devices for multiple supported customers. Performs a variety of project tasks and required good communication skills with the ability to work with users diplomatically and skillfully. Exercises good judgment and decision making in the diagnostics and resolution of computer related issues. Performs full range of work assigned to this class and works with considerable independence and initiative. At this level, work is moderately complex in nature. Typically acts as a lead worker in the Technical Support area coordinating efforts amongst other team members. Majority of work will be conducted with users over the phone or using remote tools. On-Call rotation is required. Evenings and weekends are occasionally required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Provide customers with advanced helpdesk/desktop support
  • Prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Administration and troubleshooting of Windows Server & Exchange Products
  • Firewall configuration (MikroTik, SonicWall, Watchguard, Cisco ASA/PIX, and/or NetScreen
  • Monitor servers in data center, to include troubleshooting, scheduling reboots, assist with hardware inventory tracking, imaging and server preparation
  • Act as a lead worker in the Technical Support area coordinating efforts amongst other team members

Requirements

  • Proficiency with multiple Operating systems (Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Server 2008 R2, and Mac)
  • Proficient in all standard packaged software applications; Microsoft Office, Outlook, Anti-virus as well as server applications such as Active Directory, Exchange, IIS, RAID, Remote Desktop Services and File Share Management
  • Strong desktop support skills, including Windows and desktop/laptop hardware
  • Advanced understanding of Active Directory and Outlook is a must
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues using multiple platforms (Phone Based, Click-to-Chat, Remote Support-RDP, and email)
  • High school diploma or greater with specified coursework geared toward computer science
  • 2-3 years of customer and/or technical support experience, help desk support preferred
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and procedural documentation
  • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Experience working in a team-oriented collaborative environment
  • Hold or working towards MCSE/MCTS (2000/2003/2008) certification
